Paxil (Paroxetine) is an antidepressant used in the treatment of various mental disorders such as OCD, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder. The paroxetine of the Brisdale brand comes from menopause which is used in the treatment of hot flashes and night sweats. It is sold under the trade names Paxil and Paroxetine (Seroxat). Paxil is understood as a selective monoamine neurotransmitter uptake matter (SSRI). Dosage instructions

Paxil Dosage

For the treatment of severe renal or hepatic impairment recommended dosage is 10mg a day to 40mg a day. Adult patient suffering from panic disorder should take 10mg dose at first and then can increase the dosage as suggested by the doctor. The dosage in any case should not be 40mg a day. Do not stop the medication until the doctor asks to do so. Sometimes the condition after the dosage gets worse so it should be brought into the consideration of a doctor.

Interactions with disease

Kidney disease:- This medicine should be used with caution in patients with a weakened kidney function. For moderate to severe impairment, appropriate dose adjustments should be made based on serum creatinine levels.

Hypertension:- This drug may cause an increase in blood pressure levels and therefore should be used with caution in patients with hypertension. Blood pressure levels should be continuously checked during and during treatment.

Liver disease:- This medicine should be used with caution in patients with impaired liver function. Suitable dose adjustments should be made based on the severity of the impairment.

Ethanol:- Avoid or limit alcohol uptake while using this medicine. It is advisable to avoid driving vehicles and operating heavy machinery while using this medicine.
