Paxil (Paroxetine) is an antidepressant used in the treatment of various mental disorders such as OCD, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder. The paroxetine of the Brisdale brand comes from menopause which is used in the treatment of hot flashes and night sweats. It is sold under the trade names Paxil and Paroxetine (Seroxat). Paxil is understood as a selective monoamine neurotransmitter uptake matter (SSRI). This medication could improve your mood, sleep, appetite, and energy state and will facilitate restore your interest in daily living. Paroxetine could reduce discharge symptoms like irritability, enhanced appetence, and depression.
Missed Dose instructions:- Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If the next scheduled dose is at least 4 hours away, then the missed dose should be skipped.
Overdose instructions:-If an overdose with this medicine is suspected, contact a physician immediately. Symptoms of an overdose may include agitation, hallucinations, convulsions, nausea, drowsiness, rapid or slow heartbeat, and convulsions.
For the treatment of severe renal or hepatic impairment recommended dosage is 10mg a day to 40mg a day. Adult patient suffering from panic disorder should take 10mg dose at first and then can increase the dosage as suggested by the doctor. The dosage in any case should not be 40mg a day. Interactions with disease
Kidney disease:- This medicine should be used with caution in patients with a weakened kidney function. For moderate to severe impairment, appropriate dose adjustments should be made based on serum creatinine levels.
Hypertension:- This drug may cause an increase in blood pressure levels and therefore should be used with caution in patients with hypertension. Blood pressure levels should be continuously checked during and during treatment.
Liver disease:- This medicine should be used with caution in patients with impaired liver function. Suitable dose adjustments should be made based on the severity of the impairment.
Ethanol:- Avoid or limit alcohol uptake while using this medicine. It is advisable to avoid driving vehicles and operating heavy machinery while using this medicine.
