Cozaar is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and to help protect the kidneys from damage due to diabetes. It is also used to lower the risk of strokes in patients with high blood pressure and an enlarged heart. Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. Cozaar medicine is also used to slow long-term kidney damage for people with type 2 diabetes, and it is sometimes used to treat congestive heart failure.
An overdose may cause a fast or slow heartbeat, dizziness, and feeling like passing out.
If you miss a dose, take as soon as possible, or skip it, if it is time for your next dose. Do not “double-up” to make up for a missed dose.
There are hardly any side effects after the use of Cozaar medicine. Other side effects of this medicine include pale skin, light-headed, trouble concentrating shortness of breath, wheezing, chest pain, irregular or rapid heart rate, weak pulse, gradual loss of urine. Less severe side effects include dry cough, cold or flu symptoms, sore throat, fever, muscle spasms, headaches, dizziness or backache, diarrhea, abdominal pain, fatigue, insomnia. take medical help immediately when you feel any other side effects after using this medicine.
Do not use this medication if you are allergic to Cozaar medicine. Avoid drinking alcohol when using losartan, as it may further lower your blood pressure and increase side effects. Make sure you have your blood pressure checked often. Keep using the medication even if you feel normal because high blood pressure often has no symptoms. The safety of using Cozaar tablets while breastfeeding has not been determined. Talk to your doctor about breastfeeding and taking Cozaar.
